Summer Camp 2016

I am Mrs. Bringhurst., I am from Taiwan. This summer I will have a Chinese Camp for the incoming 1st grade Chinese immersion students at my house behind District Shopping center. This class is specific for the students will be the first grade this coming year. The Summer Camp is to help students get ready before school starts, and also help parents evaluate if their child will enjoy in Chinese Immersion class.  This camp is a great head start to help your child to have exposure to Chinese in a fun way and they will be ready before school start.

I am current 1st Chinese Immersion teacher at Lone Peak elementary in Sandy.  My school is one of the model schools in Utah.  I have taught 1st grade Chinese Immersion for 6 years.  I did summer camp for East Lake Elementary, Spring lane Elementary, Calvin Smith elementary, MontaVista Elementary in 2010. Please go to About Me  to know me.

Time:
Session 1        Morning class ----June 20-24  , 9:00-11:00

Session 2        Afternoon class--June 20-24 , 1:00--3:00

Session 3       Morning class---July 11-15, 9:00-11:00

I teach Chinese through activities, flash cards, games to help students learn Chinese which makes students actively engage in learning, I also will have a blog for your child to practice at home.

What we will cover during summer camp:

1. Classroom vocabulary and daily routine words and greetings- to help your child to understand teacher's basic rule and they also will be able to express when they need to go to bathroom or need to drink water.

2. Colors

3. Numbers counting--to help your child easy to get into learning math

4 Family members

5. Animals

6. Shapes
